Misr Italia Properties (MIP), in collaboration with different civil society organizations, kicked off the “A Message of Hope” initiative in the wake of the novel Coronavirus crisis, aiming to support and advocate high-risk individuals with EGP 1 mn worth of donations, Invest-Gate reports.
“A Message of Hope” is providing help to people in distress, namely healthcare staff, nursing homes, wage workers, and orphans. “It covers four main pillars; providing the medical sector with the necessary equipment, tending to nursing homes’ essential needs, supporting wageworkers affected by irregular employment, and providing gifts and new clothes during Eid to orphanages and those in need,” read the company’s press release on June 1.
Under the initiative, MIP, in cooperation with the Al Orman Association, has donated 10 ICU monitors to the Abbasia Fever Hospital to contribute to the needs of the health sector. It also provided the necessary healthcare services and equipment for the elderly and caregivers at various nursing homes in Greater Cairo, including the provision of medication as well as disinfection and sterilization kits, alongside raising awareness related to COVID-19, jointly with the Egyptian Red Crescent.
“Box of Hope” was among the activities of the “A Message of Hope” initiative, with contributions from the company’s employees, La Nuova Vista community, and MIP’s administration, in collaboration with Al Orman Association. During Ramadan, 1,700 food boxes were distributed in Matrouh Governorate to families affected by irregular employment.
“As an extension of this activity, MIP launched ‘Gifts of Hope’ during Eid to provide orphans with gifts and new clothes for Eid celebrations in cooperation with Al Orman Association and the Egyptian Clothing Bank,” the developer further stated.
Commenting on the move, Mohamed Hany El-Assal, MIP’s CEO and managing director, noted, “We must fulfill our social responsibility and our role which not only involves real estate development but also includes preserving the wellbeing of our society especially now to overcome this critical stage.”
“Therefore, we in MIP are keen on enhancing and implementing all health and safety measures and assisting the national efforts in combating COVID-19,” El-Assal continued.
Previously, MIP unveiled that it had taken the maximum precautionary measures at all levels, in accordance with the state-dictated guidelines and recommendations, represented by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization standards as well. “The company also adopted the principle of ‘strategic planning’ to face risks and threats which may interfere with the workflow and its continuity, while maintaining the safety of its employees and clients,” it concluded.
