MODON Developments has announced a landmark partnership with Italian football legend Francesco Totti to launch the first football academy in Egypt and the Middle East, managed by Totti, Invest-Gate reports.
The academy will be located within MODON’s Villagio Compound in 6th of October City.
Ahmed Osama, CEO of MODON Developments, expressed the company’s dedication to integrating sports into its investment portfolio. The company aims to support talented young footballers and help them succeed internationally.
“We are committed to nurturing global talents like Mohamed Salah by offering full support to young athletes, enabling them to compete in top leagues worldwide,” said Osama, adding that construction of the academy has already begun.
MODON has also signed a protocol with Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports to foster talented athletes across various sports and help produce champions capable of representing Egypt on the global stage. The announcement was made during a press conference attended by Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and the Italian Ambassador to Egypt.
Minister Ashraf Sobhy remarked, “We are proud to launch the first Francesco Totti Academy in Egypt and the Middle East. This initiative reflects Egypt’s growing reputation in the international sports community and aligns with the country’s ongoing efforts to support young talent.”
Francesco Totti expressed his pride in opening the academy, stating, “I hope to discover new talents in Egypt and the Middle East who will continue the legacy of football greatness.” He also praised his former teammate, Mohamed Salah, calling him “one of the best players in the world.”
