Monoprix Joins Global Brands Lineup at UBL within Urban Walk Project in New Cairo

In a step reflecting the growing attractiveness of integrated urban developments in the Egyptian market, UBL, a subsidiary of Tameer Real Estate Development (Tameer Engineering Consultants), announced its partnership with TMT, the company responsible for the renowned French brand “Monoprix,” to operate within UBL (Urban Business Lane) in New Cairo, as a key component of the larger Urban Walk project, Invest-Gate reports.

UBL Project Components

UBL is one of the five districts comprising the Urban Walk project, which has been designed as a fully integrated urban development where all components are interconnected within a unified framework. At its center lies a massive central park spanning approximately 60,000 square meters, nearly six times the size of Cairo Stadium, forming a vibrant heart within the project.

Integration with Azad Project

Urban Walk is integrated with the Azad residential project, which includes “Azad,” “Azad Views,” “AZ Homes,” and “Azad Walk,” in addition to villas and townhouses. Together, this integrated urban expansion forms a large-scale project covering nearly half a million square meters, strategically located next to the American University in New Cairo and planned to become the city’s new downtown.

Tameer’s Development Role

Al Tameer, through its subsidiaries including UBL and Azad, is developing parts of this project through strategic partnerships and joint development agreements with landowners, enhancing execution efficiency and achieving integration between development expertise and investment vision.

Statement by Saad Al Wazzan

Saad Al Wazzan, Chairman of Tameer, stated that this collaboration aligns with the company’s vision of developing integrated urban communities that attract global brands, enhancing the investment value of projects and redefining modern living in Egypt through destinations that combine work, lifestyle, and experience in a sophisticated urban setting.

Importance of Attracting Monoprix

He added that attracting a brand like Monoprix to the Egyptian market reflects the confidence of global institutions in the local investment climate and in the quality of urban planning and infrastructure offered by the Urban Walk project, especially under a development model based on partnerships with landowners.

Statement by Wali Dolaty

Waly Dolaty, Vice Chairman of Tameer, affirmed that over more than seven decades, the company has established itself as one of Egypt’s leading developers of urban communities, enabling it today to deliver a new generation of mixed-use projects that reflect evolving market needs.
