Mortgage finance companies have provided only EGP 2.5 million to citizens with incomes lower than EGP 2,500 during the first eight months of 2016, according to the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, Al Mal News reported.
This compares to EGP 17 million provided for people within the same income range, in the period from January to August 2015.
Further, this measures against the EGP 664 million the companies provided to citizens with incomes of more than EGP 3,500 during the same period, compared to EGP 581 million in the same timeframe last year. Meanwhile, citizens with a monthly income ranging between EGP 2,500 and EGP 3,500 received EGP 11 million.
