NAC to Change Face of Cairo’s Urban Development: El Gazzar

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar stated that “the New Administrative Capital (NAC) is one of Egypt’s key national projects and will change the face of the capital’s urban development,” Invest-Gate reports.

The construction progress at the 360-acre government district of the New Administrative Capital (NAC) has reached 20%, the minister added during his ongoing inspection tour across Egypt’s prime urban developments.

El Gazzar visited the construction site of the housing ministry’s new headquarters, which is being implemented in the government district. This neighborhood includes 34 ministries, including the Cabinet and the House of Representatives’ headquarters, along with the main road linking them all on 430,000 square meters.

Additionally, the minister visited a number of neighborhoods in the highly anticipated new city including the New Garden City and the Capital Residence R3 district.

NAC’s Capital Residence R3 is currently being developed on 1,000 acres and comprises eight neighborhoods featuring 697 residential buildings, or 2,4130 residential units, and 103.5-square- meter commercial and administrative areas.

El Gazzar concludes that the sole purpose of NAC is to bring back Cairo’s historical and cultural essence.

On October 8, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly revealed that NAC’s worth has reached EGP 1 trn.  This came when the prime minister was addressing a plenary session of the Egyptian parliament, alongside eight ministers.
