NAC’s Smart City Costs EGP 30 bn: ACUD’s Chairman

Chairman of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) Ahmed Zaki Abdeen said that the expected cost of establishing a smart city inside the New Administrative Capital (NAC) stands at EGP 30 bn, Invest-Gate reports.

Abdeen revealed to Invest-Gate that the Egyptian Armed Forces, the Signal Department of Egyptian Armed Forces, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology are collaborating together to execute the smart city.

He pointed out that the government pays great attention to developing the NAC as a smart city to go ahead with implementing the rest of new urban communities.

According to the chairman, the cost of services in the NAC amounted to EGP 140 bn, which will be directed to sewage networks, gas, electricity, amongst other services.

“The development of the NAC did not cost the state budget a penny and does not represent a burden on it,” Abdeen confirmed.

The chairman further added that in the upcoming two years, an electric train will be completed with a loan from China, whereby it will comprise 13 vehicles and will allow commuters to navigate from Adly Mansour Station in El-Salam City to the new capital.

He assured that by the end of 2020, the NAC will be prepared to receive 34 ministries and other state agencies.
