Giza Governorate allocates EGP 100 million to commence construction works on Nahda Tunnel, located near Cairo University in Giza, Invest-Gate reports.

According to a released statement, Giza Governor Mohamed Al Daly announced the 700-kilometer- tunnel is expected to resolve the issue of traffic congestion in Nahda square area and the university’s bridge, serving citizens coming from Giza square and Sheraton El Galaa area.

The tunnel is being developed by the Development Authority of Great Cairo, affiliated to the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and is considered part of the tunnels project located on the Nile Corniche, including Imbaba tunnel, El Ballon Tunnel, Al Galaa Tunnel, and Bahy el Deen Barakat Tunnel.
