Nakheel Finishes Enabling Work for Al Khail Mall

Dubai-based real estate company, Nakheel has finished the ground work for Al Khail mall worth AED 2 billion ($ 544 million), at Jumeirah Village Triangle in Dubai, the company’s website stated.  

The company has received bids for the construction work, 7 proposals of which are under assessment, for a contract to be awarded in 45 days.

A construction work of a 600,000 cubic meter hole was built and could fit 240 Olympic-sized swimming pools or 12 Airbus A380 airplanes, a statement from Nakheel read.

The 200,000 square meter mall will include over 110,000 square meters of gross leasable space area (GLA), 350 shops, a multi-screen cinema, cafes, restaurants and a multi-storey car park that fits 4,400 spaces.

60% of the shop space will include tenants such as Waitrose, Reel Cinemas, Emax, Sports One, Gap,  Armani Exchange, Banana Republic and more, Nakheel announced.

The retail project portfolio is intended to be the biggest in the UAE, over more than 1.4 million square meters of leasable space, said Nakheel.
