Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr met with Singaporean Ambassador to Egypt Premjith Sadasivan on February 26 to discuss potential Singaporean investments in Egypt, Invest-Gate reports.
Both officials discussed strengthening cooperation between both countries, especially in the fields of transportation, ports, and the use of technology in maritime transport, according to a ministry statement.
Sadasivan expressed his country’s aspiration to invest in the Suez Canal Zone, potentially implementing several development projects. Singapore is experienced in
the areas of establishing and managing ports, desalination and water treatment, he noted. While Singapore relied on neighboring countries for the aforementioned processes in the past, it has now achieved self-sufficiency due to using high technology in desalination and water treatment.
The ambassador also invited Nasr to visit Singapore to view their measures of attracting investment inflows.
