USA-based Netsync Network Solutions intends to highly invest in smart city technologies in Egypt and transfer its exceptional expertise to the market, given that the country comprises areas that can swiftly evolve into smart cities in a pace much like the New Administrative Capital (NAC), New Alamein, among others, Invest-Gate reports.
Egypt is making strong strides in the fields of digital transformation, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) through the creation of new smart cities and communities, Senior Vice President of Global Services at Netsync Tamer Hedayet revealed in a press release on June 8. He added that this is expected to put the country among high-ranking technologically advanced nations in the coming period.
Netsync, a value-added reseller of industry-leading networking, data center, and collaboration technology, has a distinguished program for the establishment of smart cities, in addition to an unprecedented experience in this field in the USA and a number of European countries, he elaborated.
Hedayet, who is also a member of General Division of Digital Economy and Technology of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), stressed that the fundamental basis of smart cities development is the establishment of a strong communications infrastructure, which necessitates developing a partnership between the housing and communications ministries.
Under such agreement, a specialized unit will be established within each city, which is affiliated to the communications ministry and is set to provide infrastructure for advanced mobile network technology by 4G and fiber-based networks, aiming to save time and effort, he noted.
