The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the event organizer, the Food Bank, and the Parachuting Federation to finalize preparations for the 9th Zayed Charity Marathon, Invest-Gate reports.
The event, scheduled for December 27, will be hosted for the second consecutive year in the New Administrative Capital under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.
Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports; Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of ACUD; members of the marathon’s high committee; and representatives of the organizing bodies attended the meeting.
Expressing his excitement, Abbas affirmed ACUD’s full support to ensure the event’s success, emphasizing its humanitarian and cultural significance. He also highlighted the accompanying activities, including parachute jumps, paramotor displays, and remote-controlled aircraft exhibitions.
Minister Sobhy remarked, “The Zayed Charity Marathon is more than a sports event. It embodies the values of solidarity, philanthropy, and fostering ties between nations. It reflects the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, of supporting the needy and promoting healthier, happier communities.”
Sobhy further noted the event’s role in deepening the historic bonds between Egypt and the UAE, cultivated by their founding leaders and strengthened by their successors. This year’s marathon aims to attract 40,000 participants, offering prizes totalling EGP 20 mn and 400 Umrah trips, showcasing a remarkable collaboration between the two nations.
