New Administrative Capital to Soon Embrace 1st German University

A high-level German delegation is looking forward to establishing the first international German university in the new capital, head of the New Administrative Capital Authority said on November 13, Invest-Gate reports.

It will be under the name “The German University for Applied Sciences,” Mohamed Abdel Maksoud said in a ministerial statement.

The German delegation was impressed with the speed of delivery and the quality of work at the new capital as they paid a visit to a number of projects that are currently being implemented there, he added.

They were accompanied by a team from the technical office that will implement the university project to visit some proposed locations of the anticipated project, which according to Abdel Maksoud, planned for development at the earliest possible time.

Back in October, Egypt and Germany signed a protocol of economic cooperation worth EUR 129 mn, comprising the implementation of projects over the next four years, while announcing intentions for a new Egyptian-German initiative for the training of vocational and technical education.

The deal was signed between Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and German Development Minister Gerd Mueller. It comprises projects in the energy sector of EUR 43 mn, others in the water sector worth EUR 39 mn, in addition to EUR 45 mn for projects in the economic development sector.

German investments in Egypt have reached USD 641.4 mn through 1,103 companies, ranking the European powerhouse 20th among countries investing in Egypt, Nasr has earlier stated.
