New Al Alamein City Developments in Progress

Construction tenders have been launched to build 1,500 social housing units in New Al Alamein City, alongside other in progress developments, Invest-Gate reports.

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Moustafa Madbouly followed up on developments under construction, which include a touristic path, construction of electricity, rural sanitation, irrigation, and a telecommunications network at the beach area, according to a ministry statement.

With 50% of the digging completed, the Armed Forces Engineering Authority is to develop an artificial lake.

Madbouly also has followed up on progress at the International Road of Alexandria/ Matrouh that is being developed by Arab Contractors on 48 km to substitute the existing North Coast Road. The company stated that it finalized 28 km thus far, adding that the road’s width expands on five lanes, running both ways apart from service lanes.

The government seeks to develop New Al Alamein City as a hub for industrial, trade, scientific research, tourism, and residential activities, accommodating 400,000 citizens in its early stage.

Madbouly pointed out that the city is expected to receive several investments and that an investment request has been recently filed to construct an Emirati-Egyptian university.

Updates on developments’ progress come as part of Madbouly visit to the city to see the basic foundation and facilities’ construction in the first phase. He also promised contractors working on the project to be compensated for their losses due to the recent economic conditions once the compensation law is approved.
