Developers to Finish New Alamein Towers’ Exterior by July 2020

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has called on property developers in New Alamein to finalize finishing works of all towers’ exterior facades before July 2020, entailing all companies to sign a formal acknowledgment to betoken their commitment to meet the target dates, Invest-Gate reports.

This came during a meeting held on August 24, in the presence of Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar, alongside multiple contractors’ representatives of companies operating in the new city, where Madbouly confirmed that all operators are subject to a penalty clause for failure to adhere with set timeframes, according to a recent ministerial statement.

He also directed contractors to finish the construction of internal roads and pavements in line with the highest standards, intending to demonstrate the aesthetic and civilized form of the region.

“No country in the region is involved in such mega projects concurrently like Egypt, hence we should make strenuous efforts for the sake of our homeland … We are presenting a new Egypt to the world and construction companies must seize the opportunity to prove their competence, while delivering high-quality products. This is a historic phase where we must prove that Egyptians can make great achievements in all sectors.” the prime minister stated.

On his part, El Gazzar revealed two faculties of New Alamein’s Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transportation (AASTMT) branch will be inaugurated in September, along with one dorm building.

Another two faculties and a dormitory will be completed before the start of the second semester – or next December, while the remaining will be finished successively in 2020, El Gazzar explained, emphasizing that 80% of construction works are over.

The housing minister voiced the ministry’s readiness to disburse dues to all construction companies working in the area, indicating that the size of the forthcoming projects is much larger than the ones underway, with topmost developers cherry-picked first.
