Aswan University, the Rowing Club, and Water Sports have run a marathon of six kilometers for sailing boats and rowing at the beach park in New Aswan, Invest-Gate reports.

This marathon is in conjunction with the implementation of the river strip in New Aswan, and within the framework of fruitful cooperation between New Aswan City Authority Head Ahmed Rashad, and Faculty of Physical Education at Aswan University, according to a recent official press release.

Rashad underlined that the park on the Nile Corniche is 4 km long, and comprises wide public spaces for bazaars, shops, cafes, a five-acre Roman theater, pedestrian tunnel, and a kids area to serve its community, visitors, and tourists.

The official also noted that the execution of the two-kilometer main marina is underway to feature a number of shops, restaurants, and hotels.
