Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has announced that New Cairo will witness the hand over a new batch of the Sakan Misr middle-income project’s first and second phases from November 1 to December 30, Invest-Gate reports.

Beneficiaries are urged to settle proceedings with the Housing and Development Bank (HDB) to obtain their residential units, Head of the New Cairo Development Authority Amin Ghoneim confirmed in a ministerial statement on October 9.

Last April, El Gazzar had indicated the delivery of 1,296 Sakan Misr units as of April 14, as part of the first and second phases of the social housing project, according to a previous statement. 

In a separate official statement, the minister revealed that the government is developing a total of 26,064 residential units in New Cairo’s Sakan Misr and JANNA housing projects, with investments estimated at EGP 9 bn.
