The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities plans to assign companies that are part of the Suez Canal Authority to develop construction works that will protect and develop artificial lakes and beaches in East Port Said City, according to a released statement.
The beach extends on a 14 km coastline in the city requiring preservation and protection alongside the development of artificial lakes and yacht ports. These companies previously developed yacht ports in a North Coast marina.
The project’s consultant has confirmed that the beach area’s development plan will be finalized within a week. Later plans will focus on developing an internal, city-wide road network serving the social housing project, a housing project for middle-income citizens, and touristic residential projects overlooking the ocean.
Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly previously met with officials and companies from the Suez Canal Authority to discuss the possibility of implementing various projects on site.
The city will also witness the developments of mega projects such as the biggest water treatment plant in Africa, hotels, and resorts, a business center, a regional university, a medical city, and a conference and exhibitions center, Madbouly added.
Madbouly seeks to meet with city’s consultants and contractors to discuss the construction plan’s details and schedule.
