Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar said 1,656 social housing units have been completed in New Fayoum, with 50 apartments already delivered to the beneficiaries, Invest-Gate reports.
This came during El Gazzar’s tour to review development works undertaken in the new city, where three commercial centers have been finalized, whilst a nursery, a basic education school, and a health unit are still underway, according to a ministerial statement on September 21.
The minister commended the finishing of building façades, focusing on the quality of interior finishes, especially after being previously redesigned to provide a state of life to the project’s residents.
He also drew attention to New Fayoum’s industrial activities, highlighting the need to study applications submitted by investors to obtain industrial land plots in the area, which will consequently contribute to the provision of various job opportunities and increase the demand for housing.
On the sidelines of his visit, El Gazzar was briefed that a total of EGP 1.2 bn investments have been already pumped into New Fayoum for new urban extensions and other future expansions, alongside the execution of different service projects.
