New Minya will soon see the completion of a wastewater treatment plant, with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day as a first phase, Invest-Gate reports.
In addition, the second phase of a water outlet project is almost done, which will boost the current capacity from 45,000 to 95,000 cubic meters per day, the New Urban Communities Authority’s (NUCA) Deputy Head of Developing New Cities Alaa Abdel Aziz said during a visit on June 27 to follow up on the ongoing national projects in New Minya, according to a recent ministerial statement.
Moreover, Abdel Aziz inspected implementation works at New Minya’s social housing project and Sakan Misr middle-income project, and gave directives to speed up finalization of necessary facilities on-site. He also reviewed the development of the new city’s internal roads and works done to make the Eastern Desert Road a two-way route.
In January 2018, NUCA announced that a total of 5,256 social housing units, covering 140 acres, are underway in New Minya, as part of the state’s efforts to accommodate Egypt’s growing population, according to an earlier statement.
