West Cairo’s New October City is witnessing the gradual handover of 792 social housing units in the 800-acre neighborhood, Invest-Gate reports.

This came as Head of the New 6th of October City Development Authority Adel El Naggar followed up on the delivery process to receive complaints related to finishing works, according to a ministerial statement on June 30, noting that contractors are liable for unit implementation based on certain designs and masterplans.

Besides, El Naggar monitored the precautionary measures taken by employees and workers on-site, stressing that this comes in line with the state’s efforts to ensure productivity and continuity of implementation works, while also combating the Coronavirus spread.

Back in April, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) said roughly EGP 55 bn worth of investments are being pumped into a number of under-construction national projects in new cities, dedicating a special quota for the Social Housing Program, according to an earlier statement.
