New Social Housing Initiative Offers 78,730 Units Nationwide

Sherif El Sherbini, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has announced the new offering by the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund (SHMFF) as part of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians 5”, Invest-Gate reports.

The initiative targets low- and middle-income citizens, providing housing across almost all regions of Egypt, including new cities and provinces.

The Minister emphasized that the initiative aims to allow the largest possible number of citizens to apply for and benefit from government-supported housing, ensuring affordable living for everyone.

For her pert, Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the SHMFF, confirmed that the new offering includes 78,730 housing units. These consist of 40,607 under-construction units, 1,175 units of 75 sqm, and 11,920 units of 90 sqm ready for immediate handover, with additional ready-to-deliver units spread across Egypt’s new cities and provinces.

Key locations for ready-to-deliver units include New October City (3,200 units), 10th of Ramadan City (120 units), New Borg El Arab (1,000 units), New Sohag (420 units), New Qena (1,000 units), and Aswan (540 units).

In provinces, priority is given to low-income citizens in areas like Giza (2,455 units), Sharqia (335 units), and Minya (777 units), with significant offerings in Fayoum (3,495 units), Beheira (1,320 units), North Sinai (595 units), and South Sinai (250 units).

This initiative continues to support Egypt’s growing demand for affordable housing, ensuring housing solutions for both low- and middle-income citizens.
