NOPWASD Executes Various Projects in Sinai 

Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announces that tens of drinking water and sanitation projects are underway in different areas in the Sinai Peninsula by the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage (NOPWASD), costing billions of pounds, Invest-Gate reports.

The projects include drinking water stations and networks, as well as pressure pipelines and wastewater treatment plants.

Ihab Khedr, Head of NOPWASD, reveals that projects in North Sinai include water desalination plants in Arish and Sheikh Zuweid with costs of EGP 293.5 mn and EGP 100 mn, respectively.

Projects in North Sinai also comprise developing a water network in Arish and water pipelines in Bir al-Abd, with costs of EGP 90 mn and EGP 60 mn, respectively, Khedr says.

He adds that projects in South Sinai include building four water storage tanks with a capacity of 10,000 CBM and a cost of EGP 172 mn.
