New Urban Communities Authority’s (NUCA’s) board of directors has approved allocating a 48-acre land plot to develop a training academy in Badr City to train building workers on the latest international methods of construction and finishing works, Invest-Gate reports.
The project will be funded by China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), aiming to suffice the urgent need for the availability of such qualifications among all projects within the scope of the New Administrative Capital (NAC), for a maximum period of seven years, NUCA said in an official statement on January 5.
The decision came during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development Mostafa Madbouly, who confirmed that any worker holding a certificate from the training academy will be eligible to work in the construction field of any country as well as to work in any of NAC’s projects.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of NUCA for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs Tarek El Sebai revealed that the authority has also ratified requests from some investors, namely City Edge Developments, for the allocation of seven land plots in the first phase of New Mansoura city for the establishment of a number of service projects, including medical, commercial, educational, and administrative projects.
As for the requirements, El Sebai explained that all projects shall be implemented within three years from the date of issuing the first ministerial decision for the adoption of the urban design for projects with a total area of more than five acres, in addition to payments of a 1% administrative fee and 0.5% for the board of trustees.
Meanwhile, El Sebai unveiled that NUCA’s board of directors has agreed on the investment ministry’s request to allocate a site for the establishment of a public free zone in the logistics area of New Aswan city, on an area of 187 acres.
Furthermore, the authority ratified the request of Egypt-based Concorde for Ready Mix Concrete for the allocation of a 50,000-square-meter plot in the industrial area of New Alamein city to establish an industrial complex for building materials, the deputy chairman noted.
