NUCA Announces Reduction in Fines on Delayed Payments

The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) is reducing fines for citizens who owe two months worth of fees for residential or administrative or commercial units, reported Al Borsa News.

Complete fine exemptions will be for the cases where the owed money is paid in full, said Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.

Madbouly explained further: ” For those who repay 75% of due fees, they will be exempted from 70% of the fine, those who pay 50% will be exempt 45% of the fine, and those who pay 25% will be exempt 20% of the total fine. It is also possible to repay a larger amount and take advantage of a higher fine exemption percentage,” according to Parlmany  Website.

The reduction in fines is only applicable to residential, administrative, and commercial units. Legal action will be taken against those who renege on paying the money owed.

These exemptions exclude units and shops with cancelled contracts.
