Egypt’s New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and Canadian aerospace and transportation company Bombardier Inc. sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a monorail project, Invest-Gate reports.
Under the MoU, the Canadian firm will prepare a study for the establishment of the monorail that will link Nasr City with the New Administrative Capital, passing through New Cairo.
Bombardier will conduct feasibility studies including estimated ticket prices and the monorail’s initial route, in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation which will provide all the needed data about the site’s status, existing infrastructure along the monorail’s route, and the number of passengers which may reach 1.5 mn, NUCA Vice Chairman Mazin Hassan says.
