Assistant Minister for Community Affairs of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) Waleed Abbas has unveiled that almost 60 ministerial decisions for development projects have been issued in August, Invest-Gate reports.
For the New Administrative Capital (NAC) only, the authority has so far issued 66 ministerial decisions for various development projects, Abbas further stated in a recent online conference.
On another note, NUCA has received 4,000 requests for land allocation across the country, 2,000 of which were examined last year, following the application of the newly-introduced “Market-Oriented Mechanism” in 2019, Waleed pointed out.
A total of 731 lands has been allocated via this much-needed mechanism, according to the official, adding that merely 250 plots were offered last month.
He explained that NUCA had already granted facilities for mixed-use investment lands in new cities, wherein a three-month extension is added to the original execution plan for projects supposedly scheduled for delivery on March 15 and beyond.
Moreover, the government is considering the addition of three more months to this grace period, in the efforts to spur owners to pay off their arrears, Waleed confirmed.
