NUCA to Terminate Deal With New Alamein Contractor

Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development Mostafa Madbouly has requested the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) to terminate a deal with one of the contractors implementing projects in New Alamein, due to its failure to adhere to the set timetables and quality of implementation, Invest-Gate reports.

Madbouly’s move came during a plenary meeting with officials from the companies carrying out projects in the new coastal city; however, he did not reveal the name of the aborted company, according to the cabinet’s statement on December 19.

The prime minister also held an inspection tour of projects being implemented in New Alamein, where he inspected a number of developments such as the city hall, church, mosque, cinema complex, in addition to some recreational, commercial, and investment areas.

Head of New Alamein City Authority Osama Abdelghany confirmed that the mosque, the church, and the cinema complex will be completed by the end of next April.

During the tour, Madbouly announced that more than 500 units will be offered to the public within a few days in the new city’s distinguished housing project, of which 2,000 units have been already finalized, noting that the finishing of the buildings’ facades and installing street lights are underway.
