Egyptian tycoon Naguib Sawiris’ Ora Developers officially kicked off on May 23 its first mixed-use residential project, ZED, located in 6th of October City’s Sheikh Zayed, west Cairo, with investments amounted to EGP 35 bn, Invest-Gate reports.
To celebrate the launch of “Egypt’s first-of-its-kind project,” Ora Developers held a Sohour night, featuring the legendary Omar Khairat, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for National Projects Khaled Abbas, as well as, some of the company’s top management and partners, according to an official statement released on the event’s day.
Sawiris, the company’s chairman, commented, “At Ora Developers, we do not think of ourselves as just developers. We are always looking at projects that are there to fill a market gap, we design to make a difference and bring happiness. We embrace creativity, innovation, sustainability, and design in every project, and that is what ZED will offer Sheikh Zayed.”
With the 65-acre Zayed Central Park – or ZED Park – located in the heart of it, the new integrated project “interweaves mixed-use, residential, commercial, retail, and entertainment facilities into its masterplan, elevating Sheikh Zayed from a residential suburb to a new urban quarter that promises its community a true luxury lifestyle destination,” read the statement.
Zayed Central Park is scheduled to officially open on October 6, which Ora Developers vows to revamp into a state-of-the-art park, in line with its efforts to introduce the lifestyle concept of park entertainment to Egypt, with a lineup of events and activities that will be managed by the company.
Developed over 165 acres, ZED will feature a total of 5,000 fully-finished apartments, ranging between 60 and 240 square meters, with modules varying from serviced apartments to two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments.
“Residential spaces will be hosted in two interconnected towers, comprising of 20 floors and other mid-rise apartment buildings comprising of ten floors, overlooking open green spaces. All towers have been designed to include designated underground parking facilities for all residents, to ensure ease of parking and avoid traffic in the area,” the statement added.
Besides, Ora Developers partnered with a number of global design firms, including Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo (WATG) and !Melk, to implement ZED’s vision of a living, breathing lifestyle destination that incorporates a real sense of community spirit, while ensuring cutting-edge designs in the project’s landscaping and architecture.
