Orascom Construction announces that its consortium with France’s ENGIE, Japan’s Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, and the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy lays foundations of a new 500-megawatt Build-Own-Operate Wind Farm in Egypt’s Ras Ghareb, Invest-Gate reports.
Orascom Construction holds an equity stake in the project and will execute the construction of the wind farm.
The project will deliver clean power to over 800,000 homes. It will help Egypt’s efforts to transform towards renewable energy.
The new wind farm will cut Egypt’s carbon dioxide emissions by one mn tons annually.
