Orascom Development’s O West Sponsors GFF 2020

O West, Orascom Development Egypt’s (ODE) first home project in Cairo, has announced its sponsorship of the El Gouna Film Festival (GFF), which will be held from October 23 to 31, Invest-Gate reports.

O West’s sponsorship of GFF emerges to support the continued efforts of ODE, the developer of Red Sea’s El Gouna and the mother company of GFF, in reviving and promoting tourism in Egypt, while supporting and empowering the development of the film industry, according to the company’s press release on October 13.

CEO of ODH Omar El Hamamsy affirmed, “O West, Orascom Development’s first residential town in Cairo, is sponsoring GFF in its fourth edition by providing full support to El Gouna and the festival.”

During the nine-day event, O West will organize many activities for the attendees to contribute to the enrichment of GFF, the statement noted.

On his part, Samih Sawiris, chairman of Orascom Development Holding (ODH) and founder of El Gouna, stated, “We believe in the pivotal role of art and culture in community development, and those creative achievements are an effective engine for local and regional growth.”

According to El Hamamsy, “O West will bring the full exceptional experience of ‘El Gouna’ to Cairo residents, building on [ODE’s] unrelenting vision of creating fully-integrated towns. Our strategy is built on transferring our vast experience and success stories to our destinations in the seven countries in which we operate.”

In March 2019, O West, which is located in 6th of October City, west Cairo, made an official launch to include 950 units of apartments, duplexes, penthouses, and lofts, with a total inventory of EGP 3.3 bn, as highlighted in a previous statement.

The soft launch phase included 400 residences that vary from single-family homes, standalone villas, twin houses, and townhouses, with an average selling price of EGP 22,300 per square meter for core and shell properties.

O West’s unique masterplan and landscape are designed by HOK and EDSA, two of the largest and most prominent architectural design and landscape companies in the world. The compound will comprise a 50-acre sports club, a hospital, a hotel, a commercial mall, together with “O Business District.”
