More than 1950 investors are bidding to buy lands at Badr City’s Textile City, Reuters-affiliated website Zawya reports.
Investors submitted applications with the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) to buy specifications and requirements of the bid that was announced back in mid-October.
To meet surging demands from bidders, IDA decided to give a two-day extension for giving out specifications and requirements.
To the extent of exceeding demand recorded for lands offered for investors in Upper Egypt’s industrial zones, proximity of Badr City to the New Administrative Capital is fueling the rising demand.
Badr City’s second Textile City will be built over one mn sqm with 198 plots being allocated for weaving and spinning, in addition to ready-made garments and dyeing.
