Over 200,000 Homes completed nationwide over past two years

Approximately 212,000 residential units have been completed and 288,000 more units are currently under construction alongside a plan for an additional 100,000 units, Invest-Gate reports.

The units range from social housing and special housing. Around 40,000 units are being built across New Cairo, 6th of October, Badr City, Obour City, Damietta, El Minya, and New Alamein, while 22,000 social housing units are found across Cairo, Matrouh, Red Sea, Sharqiya, Aswan, Ismailia, Luxor, Assiut, Qena, El Minya, El Beheira, and Al Fayoum.

Minister of Housing and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly also reveals the completion of 26,000 units offered for rent to citizens with an income of below 1,500 per month. Approximately 45,000 units were completed in the Suez Canal Zone, alongside 55,000 units in the pipeline worth of EGP 15 bn.

Madbouly also stated that 55,000 homes are being implemented in Dar Misr project for middle-income citizens, among 150,000 units. The homes range in floor plans from 100 to 150 square meters, according to a released statement.

This comes as part of updates about projects achieved in the past two years and a half in the country that were announced during a youth conference held in Ismailia.
