38 ships carrying total shipments/ cargo of 2.3 mn tons have passed through Suez Canal earlier this week, Invest-Gate reports.

The south-bound group included 20 containers carrying 1.2 mn tons while the northbound group included 18 ships carrying 1.1 tons according to a released statement by the State Information Service.

The Suez Canal Zone is expected to witness development plans in the upcoming period. Previously, Ahmed Darwish, head of the Suez Canal Zone had discussed with Regional Director of the US Trade & Development Agency (USTDA) Carl Kres potential investments to further increase trade and boost industrial sectors, Invest-Gate reported previously.
