Palm Hills Launches Its First International Squash Open in May

Palm Hills Developments has announced the launch of the inaugural Palm Hills Squash Open, taking place from May 22 to 27 at Palm Hills Club in 6th of October City, Invest-Gate reports.

Sponsored by Cairo 3A Group and held under the auspices of Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, the tournament will feature 48 of the world’s top squash players competing for a total prize pool of $250,000.

The tournament reflects Palm Hills’ continued efforts to support Egypt’s squash champions on their path to qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. It also aims to promote Egypt’s world-class sports infrastructure and reinforce the country’s position as a prime destination for international sports tourism.

“This event builds on our shared vision with Palm Hills to elevate squash in Egypt and highlight the role of sports tourism in driving development,” said Amr Mansi, Founder and CEO of ievents. “We believe this strategic partnership will place Egypt firmly on the global squash map.”

Hazem Zayed, CEO of Cairo 3A Group, said, “We view our support for sports as a real investment in the future of our youth. Egypt has achieved global milestones in squash, and we are proud to be part of that journey. Our goal is to continue providing resources and backing local and international championships.”

The tournament further strengthens Palm Hills Club’s reputation as a regional hub for squash, offering young talents professional training and exposure. The event also follows Palm Hills’ previous hosting of the 2024 CIB World Squash Championship and the Palm Hills Arab Junior Open.
