PHD, JBI Partner for Badya’s Project Management

Egypt’s real estate developer Palm Hills Developments (PHD) signed on September 10 a service agreement with Julius Berger International GmbH (JBI) for project management Badya in 6th of October City, west Cairo.

Acting as Badya’s advisor, JBI will handle its management activities, including the administration and monitoring of all contractors, as well as, the project’s design management, construction program management, and supervision, Chairman of PHD Yasseen Mansour said during a signing ceremony held at Badya Sales Office, 6th of October City, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for National Projects Khaled Abbas, Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, among other officials and dignitaries.

The Nigerian construction company will also carry out off-site manufacturing and mock-ups, construction strategy development and execution, cost management, quality control management, and value engineering management.

Spreading across 332 acres, phase 1A of Badya is expected to be handed over in 2022, featuring apartment buildings, villas, townhouses, and twin houses, with total gross floor area (GFA) of around 622,317 square meters. The compound will be complemented with an international school, an office park, a sports club that covers a total GFA of nearly 170,000 square meters, to name a few.

The infrastructure component of this phase includes the development of an internal road network of almost 27,000 meters, connection to existing and future public road networks, along with the provision of potable and irrigation water using treated sewage effluent. In addition, sewage treatment, power supply, information technology, and communication systems will be implemented, accompanied by landscaping, parks, and greeneries.

Badya is the newest groundbreaking megaproject by PHD, established in partnership with the government, among other residential projects in west and east Cairo. This comes on top of multiple second-home compounds by the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea coast. In general, the property developer holds one of the largest land banks in Egypt, with a current portfolio of 29 developments nationwide.
