Plans to Unveil Major Archaeological Discovery at Saqqara in January: Hawass

Senior Egyptologist Zahi Hawass has revealed plans to officially announce the new major archaeological discovery of Saqqara Necropolis in January 2021, Invest-Gate reports.

The news came during talks to a Spanish travel group about the recent archaeological discoveries made by the Ministry of Antiquities and Hawass’ excavations in the Valley of the Monkeys in the Western Valley, according to a recent press statement.

Further, Hawass unveiled that the Tutankhamun Opera will be performed next March at the Cairo Opera House, as a memorial to commemorate the discovery of the boy Pharaoh’s tomb in 2022.

On the sidelines, the senior egyptologist explained that archaeological discoveries by the Ministry of Antiquities considerably contribute to promoting Egyptian tourism across the world.

It is worth noting that Hawass received a high-ranking Spanish delegation in front of the Great Sphinx of Giza for the first time since the Coronavirus outbreak. The group included intellectuals, writers, university professors, and public figures.
