In attendance were Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities; Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Hassan El Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; and Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, participating via video conference. Yomna El Bahar, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities; and Mostafa Mounir, Chairman of the General Authority for Tourism Development, were also present.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister identified specific regions targeted for the development of new tourist destinations along the Red Sea and the North Coast of the Mediterranean, akin to successful projects in Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, with ongoing efforts for the Ras El Hekma initiative.

Madbouly emphasized the government’s significant focus on the tourism sector as part of a comprehensive reform program that encompasses industries, agriculture, communications, and information technology.

He outlined the state’s current objectives, including the aim to attract 30 million tourists annually and address the challenge of adding an additional 200,000 to 250,000 hotel rooms.

In addition, Madbouly instructed the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade to intensify efforts in attracting investors to facilitate the development and operation of facilities and hotel accommodations, expediting the creation of the necessary lodging capacities.
