Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting in New Alamein today to follow up on the legalisation of lands added to several new cities, the status of current housing and land offerings, and ongoing development projects, Invest-Gate reports.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Sherif El Sherbini Minister of Housing Utilites and Urban Communities, Walid Abbas, First Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and Amin Ghoneim, NUCA Vice President for Development.
Madbouly stressed the importance of the land legalisation file, noting its role in preserving national resources and stabilising the legal and social status of citizens residing in newly added areas. He underscored the need for proper urban planning and the timely handover of plots where legal status has been settled.
El Sherbini confirmed that the legalisation process is progressing well, with ongoing reviews of submitted applications and the completion of cases that have finalised their procedures. He noted that efforts are underway to expedite the process to support the development of integrated urban communities.
El Sherbini also discussed national housing initiatives, including efforts to provide adequate residential units and services across new cities, in line with the goals of the New Republic and presidential directives.
He added that projects under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative are being launched successively, catering to low-, middle-, and high-income segments. Revenues from high-end units are being redirected to support vulnerable groups — a policy aimed at achieving social justice.
The minister also reviewed progress on key infrastructure projects, including road expansions along the 26th of July Corridor.
