PM Inspects Ongoing  Projects In Old Cairo

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly tours a number of development projects being implemented in the Old Cairo area in Cairo Governorate, accompanied by Minister of Tourism Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel-Aal, and a number of officials, Invest- Gate reports.

Madbouly begins the tour by inspecting the Soor Magra El Oyoun project, pointing out that the government aims to remove a number of unplanned areas and establish alternative housing units for its residents, the ministerial statement reveals.

During the tour, El Gazzar reviews the implementation status of the Soor Magra El Oyoun and the surrounding area, explaining that this project covers 95 acres and features many residential, commercial, cultural and service buildings.

The project consists of 79 heritage buildings, comprising 1942 housing units, and the area of ​​each building is 600 sqm, with space of 150 sqm for ​​the residential unit. Besides, the project includes 18 commercial units, a commercial and entertainment building, as well as parking spaces.

Regarding the residential buildings, El Gazzar indicates that there are 77 buildings in progress, and two buildings are under study, adding that the concrete structure of 27 buildings has been finished and work is underway to complete the concrete structure of 27 other buildings.

Moreover, El Gazzar remarks that the administrative and commercial mall spans over ​​more than 163,000 sqm, comprising four floors. The basement contains a park for 1,355 cars, service rooms, a fire tank, and a cooling room, while the ground floor includes 17 restaurants, seven cafes, and 16 shops.

In addition, the project features a main theatre accommodating 570 people, a cinema hall accommodating 132 people, and five other cinema halls; each hall accommodates 126 people. Besides, there is an open theater in the ground floor and a hall for displaying arts. The first floor includes 24 restaurants and several administrative offices, while the second floor includes 163 hotel rooms, the ministerial statement adds.
