P&O Marinas has signed an agreement with Pindar Yacht Management (PYM) to shake up the former’s Dubai-based development, Mina Rashid Marina, and develop a wide range of all-embracing world-class marine leisure services, Invest-Gate reports.

Under the deal, PYM’s scope of work includes a water sports academy, a recreational club, an exhibition space, as well as, associated marine leisure services and facilities. The strategic collaboration agreement will bring the UK-based firm’s experience as an international sailing business to promote the transformation of the P&O Marinas facility into a recreational hub for the sports and wider yachting industry, according to the company’s press release on June 7.

“In addition, PYM will organize sailing and promotional activities using its two Volvo Ocean Race Yachts, customized and branded to P&O Marinas’ marketing purposes. The yachts, Mina and Marina, will be moored at Mina Rashid Marina,” read the statement.

Commenting on the milestone, “The partnership sets the stage for the next phase in the development of Mina Rashid Marina and provides a boost to our on-going work of transforming it into the region’s largest and best super-yacht destination. We are confident that Mina Rashid Marina will continue to grow in a post-pandemic scenario as Dubai, the region, and the UAE begin gathering momentum for economic recovery,” CEO and Executive Director of P&O Marinas Mohammed Al Mannaei was quoted as saying.

Mina Rashid Marina has a track record of growth in the UAE as a regional hub for the maritime community, led by P&O Marinas’ aspirations to reinforce this important chunk of the market, particularly in terms of infrastructure, as well as supporting the promotion of Dubai as a global tourism destination.

After the success of Mina Rashid Marina in drawing some of the world’s largest yachts over the past few seasons, UAE’s P&O Marinas has expanded its management and operations to four additional marinas across Dubai, tailoring top-notch lifestyle destinations for yacht enthusiasts.
