Amer Group heads east to launch its first project, Porto Dead Sea, in Jordan, Invest-Gate reports.

Amer Group is to inaugurate the first phase of Porto Dead Sea in September, the Group’s Brand Manager Alaa ElBarbary told Invest-Gate.

Porto Dead Sea is the first joint real estate project between Egypt and Jordan.

In a panel meeting on January 15, between associations of Egyptian and Jordanian businessmen, sponsored by Amer Group’s project, they discussed the exchange of efforts and investments between the neighboring countries and job creation through Porto Dead Sea. The Jordanian businessmen present reportedly have great expectations about the project, stating that the majority of their hotels and resorts are often too expensive for tourists and they’d rather spend the vacation in Sharm El-Sheikh or Taba.

Porto Dead Sea will provide less expensive packages, featuring malls and leisure activities that the tourism sector in Jordan is lacking at the current time, Jordanians said at the panel.

Amer Group threw an opening ceremony for the project’s first foundation stone, in the presence of the Jordanian Prime Minister, in March 2014.
