The meeting of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), ICA–Africa, and international housing cooperatives starts Saturday in the New Administrative Capital for two days ending on October 16th under the sponsorship of GV Developments, Invest-Gate reports.
The meeting is chaired by Ariel Guarco, President of ICA, and attended by all the board members of the alliance.
The meeting comes in light of the preparation for the 13th Africa Ministerial Cooperative Conference (AMCCO), which will be hosted in Egypt for the first time ever, October 17th to 20th with the title of “Growing Africa Together”, and the Fourth International Conference for Cooperative Housing (ICCH’22).
The opening session of the conference will include transferring the presidency of the Council of Ministers from Nigeria to Egypt for three years.
The position will be assumed by Assem El Gazzar, Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.
Hossam Rizk, Chairman of the General Authority for Construction and Housing Cooperatives (GACHC), notes that the GACHC is preparing for the ICA–Africa to promote Egypt’s efforts and showcase the achievements of the authority in all governorates during the previous years.
Sherif Hamouda, Chairman and Managing Director of GV Developments, states that hosting the AMCCO in Egypt crowns the country’s efforts in the achievement of urban development over eight years.
During the opening session of the conference, organizers will recognize the best five cooperative projects in Africa in 2022.
