Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced today that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has approved setting November 1 as the official opening date of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), Invest-Gate reports.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting held at the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly directed all relevant ministries and authorities to finalize preparations for the opening, ensuring the event reflects the prestige and historical significance of the museum and its surrounding area.
Madbouly confirmed that the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum is being prepared as an exceptional event that adds to a long record of distinguished national events linked to modern Egyptian history.
Madbouly stressed that the inauguration will host high-level international participation and include a series of side events. He described the museum as a global cultural and tourist landmark that showcases the grandeur of Egypt’s ancient civilisation across its many eras.
The museum, years in the making, is expected to become one of the world’s largest and most significant archaeological institutions, drawing visitors from around the globe.
