Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to review the latest progress of the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, Invest-Gate reports.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Housing Utilities and Urban Communties Sherif El Sherbini, First Assistant to the Prime Minister Randa El Menshawy, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Walid Araf, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Major General Khaled Abdallah, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority Ahmed El Sobky, and Dar Al Handasah Director Ahmed Abdel Azim, along with other officials.
At the outset, Madbouly emphasized that the government is working to finalize the first phase of the initiative, which aims to benefit approximately 18 mn citizens across targeted villages. He noted that completing this phase will allow more projects to enter service and expand the base of beneficiaries, paving the way for the launch of the second phase.
Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed the status of medical facilities under the initiative, including completed and operational units and those still under construction. He stressed that healthcare projects are a key pillar of the initiative, contributing to the comprehensive development of medical infrastructure and improving healthcare services nationwide.
Minister of Planning Rania Al Mashat highlighted key performance indicators of the first phase, noting that five targeted villages—Fares (Aswan), Nahtay (Gharbia), Shama (Menoufia), El-Liwaa Sobeh (New Valley), and El-Hesas (Dakahlia)—received the international “Tarsheed” green certification. Between July 2021 and June 2025, the first phase also recorded a 55% improvement in high-speed internet coverage, a 421% increase in natural gas service penetration, and significant expansions in utility access, with 463,000 new potable water connections and 1.4 mn sanitation connections.
