Prime Minister Madbouly Inaugurates Urban Exhibition at World Urban Forum in Cairo

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the urban exhibition accompanying the 12th World Urban Forum at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo, Invest-Gate reports.

The forum, which runs from November 4 to 8, is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and serves as a global platform for showcasing advancements in sustainable urban development.

Moreover, Madbouly emphasized the exhibition’s significance as an integral part of the forum, which UN-Habitat organizes biennially. The event provides a key venue for global stakeholders—including governments, private sector entities, NGOs, and academics—to share urban innovations that address sustainability challenges.

Accompanied by high-level officials, including Ana Claudia Rossbach, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN-Habitat, and Egypt’s Minister of Housing Sherif El Sherbini, Madbouly began his tour at the Egyptian pavilion.

The 1,500 sqm pavilion showcases achievements in urban development, green transformation, and environmental initiatives, highlighting Egypt’s role in sustainable urban practices.

Furthermore, El Sherbini provided an overview of the Egyptian pavilion, which features displays from multiple ministries, government entities, and 11 real estate developers. A section dedicated to African visitors highlights Egypt’s contributions to development.

Also, Madbouly visited the Saudi pavilion, where he was welcomed by Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh. The Saudi exhibit, led by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and supported by 30 government and private organizations, showcases Saudi Arabia’s recent advances in urban development.

Notably, Madbouly learned about the country’s approach to “Building Back Better,” which focuses on sustainable and resilient urban planning, in the Azerbaijan pavilion. Azerbaijan’s display underscores efforts to blend cultural heritage preservation with modern urban resilience.

Finally, Madbouly toured the UN pavilion, which presents a model underscoring the importance of quality housing and the sharing of successful global urban experiences, advocating for inclusive, sustainable urban growth.
