Prime Minister Monitors Developments in the Executive Status of Ras El Hekma City

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting today to review the latest developments in the executive situation and ongoing development work in Ras El Hekma City on the North Coast in Matrouh Governorate, Invest-Gate reports.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport; Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities; Major General Khaled Shoeib, Governor of Matrouh; Dr. Islam Ragab, Deputy Governor of Matrouh; and officials from the relevant ministries and authorities.

Madbouly emphasized the Egyptian government’s commitment to the success of this important project, highlighting its pivotal role in attracting investments and tourism, providing job opportunities, and adding value to the Egyptian economy.

Counselor Mohamed Elhomosany, the official spokesperson for the Cabinet, explained that the meeting aimed to follow up on and review the executive status of several files related to the project. The status of compensation and removals in the Ras El Hekma area was examined, as well as the progress of work in the investment area, particularly concerning hotel construction and the company’s administrative zone.

Elhomosany noted that the meeting addressed the executive status of the Shams El Hekma area, which serves as an alternative housing site for families. Discussions included the implementation of utility networks for water and sewage, as well as the main and secondary road networks. It was emphasized that implementation has reached very advanced stages.

Elhomosany also highlighted the progress in constructing an experimental school for families within the Shams El Hekma area, along with plans to provide services to the southern alternative area for tribes and other necessary services.

He added that the meeting reviewed the resettlement status of the first phase within the Shams El Hekma area, including the legal processes for land regularization. Steps taken to facilitate this process include opening the application process for those entitled to compensation to legalize their lands and obtain building permits.

Elhomosany confirmed that the meeting discussed the inventory prepared regarding the alternative housing available, as well as the submitted applications eligible for legalization.

He noted that the meeting reviewed the status of compensation disbursement for the Ras El Hekma area, confirming that the total value of compensation disbursed exceeds EGP 6 bn.
