Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting at the government headquarters in the New Capital to review efforts to maximize the utilization of lands and buildings overlooking the Nile Corniche and offer them as investment opportunities. The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Eng. Sherif El-Sherbini; Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber; Giza Governor Eng. Adel El-Naggar; and Chairman of the Urban Development Fund Eng. Khaled Saddik, along with officials from relevant ministries and authorities, Invest-Gate reports.
Madbouly reaffirmed the state’s commitment to generating higher returns from its underutilized assets through partnerships with the private sector. He directed officials to accelerate work on transforming Nile Corniche lands into investment opportunities for various activities, with clear details on height restrictions, pricing, proposed uses, and licensing requirements.
Cabinet Official Spokesman counselor Mohamed El-Homosany stated that the Prime Minister reviewed the latest developments regarding efforts to utilize Nile Corniche lands and buildings in Cairo and Giza. He noted that a geographic database had been created for all state-owned assets overlooking the Nile, including ownership details, current land conditions, and existing activities.
According to the report presented, 110 sites covering 430 feddans have been identified in Cairo across districts such as El-Sahel, Rod El-Farag, Bulaq Abu El-Ela, Sayeda Zeinab, Old Cairo, Maadi, and Tora. In Giza, 82 sites spanning 315 feddans were documented across El-Warraq, Imbaba, Agouza, Dokki, and South Giza.
El-Homosany added that a detailed report was reviewed, outlining each site’s area, ownership, and on-ground status, as well as whether it is currently utilized and the type of activities conducted there.
