Following the cabinet meeting and weekly press conference, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly visited the Central Business District (CBD) in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) to inspect the progress of the project, Invest-Gate reports.
He was accompanied during the tour by Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, along with several officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the Chinese company implementing the project.
Madbouly emphasized that the Egyptian state has achieved an unprecedented urban boom in recent years, particularly in the fourth-generation cities, including the NAC, which are witnessing significant projects that the government aims to maximize benefits from, including high-quality and diverse residential units.
He explained that the CBD is one of the most important areas within the NAC, housing numerous towers, most notably the Iconic Tower, which is the tallest tower in Africa. This area also boasts a highly distinguished location.
Madbouly also expressed his commitment to following up on the implementation of the CBD project due to its great importance, ensuring it receives continuous oversight to advance the work. He stressed the need to implement the various aspects of the project according to the highest quality standards and established designs.
During the tour, El Sherbini noted that the CBD includes 20 towers, divided into 10 towers designated for administrative, office, commercial, and service activities, covering a total area of 806,000 m². Their heights range between 80 and 175 m.
Additionally, there are 5 residential towers featuring 1,700 fully finished residential units, with a total area of 102,000 m² and heights ranging from 152 to 200 meters. The crescent towers, consisting of 4 connected towers, will include hotel, hotel apartment, public service, entertainment, and commercial activities, reaching a height of 64 meters.
Furthermore, El Sherbini added that the Iconic Tower, at approximately 400 meters, is the tallest tower in Africa and features multiple activities, including hotel, commercial, and administrative spaces. It will house one of the international hotels making its debut in Egypt and Africa, along with hotel and administrative units, and a commercial area offering various services (business, entertainment, and commercial). The tower will also include 40 floors of administrative offices, 10 floors of hotel apartments with 52 units, and 30 floors for the hotel with 183 rooms, covering a total area of 266,000 m².
