Prime Minister Reviews Progress of Ras El Hekma and Shams El Hekma Developments in North Coast Visit

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Sunday during his tour of the North Western Coast to follow up on the implementation of Ras El Hekma New City and Shams El Hekma City, Invest-Gate reports.

The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ras El Hekma City Authority and was attended by Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing Utilities and Urban Communities, Matrouh Governor Major General, Khaled Shuaib, and officials from the Housing Ministry and the governorate.

Madbouly stressed the need to accelerate road and utility works in the Shams El Hekma area by increasing manpower and equipment. He confirmed the state’s commitment to providing services to residents and ensuring a dignified life in well-planned communities.

El Sherbini said the New Urban Communities Authority, through the Ras El Hekma City Authority, is implementing infrastructure and road works for the alternative plots in Shams El Hekma. These lands are allocated to original residents, and the area includes residential, service, commercial, and investment zones in addition to a main road network.

The minister presented images showing progress in Phase 1 of Ras El Hekma, including hotel and office buildings, and detailed plots ready for handover to the UAE side. He also reviewed the infrastructure layout for Shams El Hekma and reported 100% completion of emergency utility work for the 3,800-feddan area, including networks for water, irrigation, sewage, and storm drainage.

He added that an experimental school with 28 classrooms is 80% complete and will be operational next academic year. Three urgent utility plans are underway for local tribes across 785 feddans.

Major General, Hossam El Sisi, Deputy Transport Minister and supervisor of the Ras El Hekma project, presented the relocation status of occupants from both phases and images of cleared zones north of the highway.
