The meeting was attended by Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Eng. Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza; Eng. Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund; and several officials from relevant authorities.

Madbouly highlighted the importance of developing a comprehensive and integrated vision for unplanned areas, enhancing their efficiency, improving the level of services they offer, and diversifying those services. He emphasized the need to ensure the optimal operation of public parks as a key component of achieving the Egyptian state’s development goals.

In this context, Eng. Sherif El Sherbini presented the status of the Imbaba Airport development project. He reported on the upgrade works for 117 buildings in the project, noting that the external facades of 93 buildings have been completed, with a completion rate of 80%.

Additionally, testing and repairs for drainage and power defects have been completed for 100 buildings, achieving a completion rate of 85.5%. The upgrade works and resolution of deficiencies have also been completed for 37 buildings, and electricity supply has been finalized for 18 buildings.

El Sherbini also highlighted the project’s potential investment opportunities, detailing the steps taken to develop a comprehensive vision for the management and operation of Giza Park, maximizing the benefits of its prime location.

Several proposals for the operation of the park were reviewed, including the addition of new activities to enhance park services, the development of a side building into an integrated cultural center, improvements to infrastructure and green spaces, and the allocation of an area within the park for seasonal exhibitions to support productive family initiatives.

During the meeting, Eng. Khaled Seddik reviewed the implementation steps for developing the Kitkat area in Imbaba and the surrounding Aziz Ezzat Housing area. He explained that the Kitkat area covers 351 feddans, while the Aziz Ezzat Housing area, located within Kitkat, spans 42 feddans.

Seddik noted that the Kitkat area is an unplanned zone that includes government housing, as well as some educational and industrial services, and requires re-planning. He indicated that coordination is underway with the Giza Governorate to propose work mechanisms for re-planning the Kitkat area.
